Supporting Israeli Soldiers On Their Path To Recovery

Donating vital rehabilitation equipment to those who have served.

About Baruch Haba

Baruch Haba was founded by Steven Maryles, a Physical Therapist who brings 26+ years of experience to the table. Our foundation rests on a key insight: effective rehabilitation continues beyond the clinic walls. We focus on providing Israeli soldiers with essential home therapy equipment, enabling consistent practice and faster recovery. This approach not only accelerates individual healing but also optimizes healthcare resources by freeing up clinical space for urgent cases. At Baruch Haba, we're committed to supporting soldiers in their journey back to independence and full health. Join us in this sacred duty of mending bodies, uplifting spirits, and honoring the sacrifice of those who defend our nation. Baruch Haba is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, currently awaiting approval of tax-exempt status.

About The Founder

I have been a Physical Therapist since 1997 and have worked in all areas, including: Acute Care, Sub-Acute, Long-Term Care, hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, group homes, work environments, and home care. I have treated populations ranging from 3 months old to over 100 years old with various diagnoses: developmental delays, cerebral palsy, autism, amputations, gunshot wounds, MS, Parkinson's Disease, orthopedic issues, CVAs, and more. In addition to being a treating PT, I have served as Director of Rehabilitation on three different occasions.

Throughout my professional experiences, the one constant has been 26 years in home care physical therapy for both children and adults. The home care setting is unique in that the therapist works in the client's environment, bringing a better understanding of each client's needs. From my experience, I know that equipment used in the home care setting facilitates each client's progress towards their goals. This approach allows clients to return home from different settings more quickly, enables one-on-one sessions, and allows for consistent daily home exercises using equipment available in the home.

Why This Cause?

Recovery from injury or trauma is a long journey that requires consistent effort and access to the right tools. For Israeli soldiers, rehabilitation is often hindered by limited access to essential equipment, forcing them to rely on weekly clinic visits that don’t provide the frequency or continuity needed for optimal healing.

Research and experience show that patients make the most progress when they can practice their exercises daily in the comfort of their own homes. This approach not only accelerates recovery but also helps reduce the length of stay in institutional settings, freeing up valuable resources for the most critically injured patients. Our foundation bridges this gap by donating vital rehab equipment directly to soldiers, enabling them to regain strength, mobility, and independence more effectively.
